International Talent Training Seminars for the “Belt and Road” Infrastructure Construction Successfully Held in Malaysia

From November 4th to 11th, the second phase of international talent training seminars for the “Belt and Road” infrastructure construction was held at Taylor's University in Malaysia. The lecturer group, selected by SUCC from outstanding teachers and artisans, was led by Xu Wei, the vice president of SUCC’s School of Continuing Education. They came to Taylor's University to spread the culture of Luban (the master of Chinese craftsman), shared Luban technology and its intelligent manufacturing, introduced Luban standards, as well as discussed the establishment of the Southeast Asian “Luban School” training base in Malaysia and other cooperation matters.

The abundant training lasted for a week with various lectures given during that period, such as Dr. Zheng Wei’s lecture on “New Development Trends of BIM Technology in the Background of Industry 4.0” and Professor Zhou Peiyuan’s lecture on “Historical Building Protection Theory, Principles and Mechanisms--Taking Shanghai's Historic Building Protection as an Example”. All of these show the cutting-edge development of China’s architectural technology, as well as Shanghai's achievements in the construction of three cultural brands, namely red culture, Shanghai culture and Jiangnan culture, as well as its unremitting efforts in urban organic renewal and cultural inheritance, amazing teachers and students in Taylor's University. Teacher Chen Zhijuan gave a brief introduction to the training system and shared the inheritance history of Luban culture. In addition, everyone worked together to make “Luban Lock”, so that everyone can deeply understand the cultural heritage of the ancient China and the excellent wisdom of the working people in thousands years civilization.

The seminar in Malaysia has yielded enthusiastic response and good results. Later, SUCC will continue to promote the cooperation between both sides in the future, aiming to strengthen the “Luban School” brand, play the role of the seminar, and expand the scope of training in order to promote the cooperation between China and the countries along the “Belt and Road” in the field of vocational skills training for mutual benefit and win-win.
