Introduction of Sino-Canada Cooperation Programs

 

I. Program of Construction Project Management

 

The Sino-Canadian program of Construction Project Management is a high-level special education program jointly organized by Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC) and George Brown College (GBC) of Canada. This program has been approved by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and registered by the Ministry of Education, and aims at cultivating technical talents in engineering project development, construction and management, engineering construction consulting, construction engineering economy, and construction and management.

 

The program has also established school-enterprise partnerships with the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) and Shanghai Zhuzong Group Development Co., Ltd., etc. After graduating, students can choose to work in China or continue their undergraduate studies at George Brown College.

 

The skill certificates include ESL certificate (English as a Second Language), College English Test Band-4 (CET-4) Certificate, University Computer Test 1(CCT-1) Certificate, and job certificates for construction worker, quality officer, cost engineer and others.

 

II. Program of Construction Project Management (Building Data Modeling and Application)

The program major aims at cultivating advanced technical talents with relevant BIM (Building Information Modeling) technologies in engineering planning, design, project management and engineering cost to meet the needs of China’s development demands of modern building informationization and construction industrialization.

 

The program has been approved for student enrollment since 2015 and is designed to leverage the resources of the BIM National Laboratory at George Brown College in Canada and to introduce teachers, technology and equipment. At present, the BIM laboratory funded by SUCC has been completed, and all equipment has been implemented.

According to the agreement between the Chinese and Canadian parties, students majored in this program can choose to visit Canada and participate in the Canadian National Accreditation Professional Qualification Certificate, which is the main accreditation of the BIM Industry Association and is recognized in a relatively high level in China.

The skill certificates include BIM Professional Qualification Certificate (Canada), ESL certificate (English as a Second Language), College English Test Band-4 (CET-4) Certificate, University Computer Test 1(CCT-1) Certificate, and job certificates for construction worker, quality officer, cost engineer and others.
