After ten months of preparation and nearly 100 days of compilation, the “2021 City Information Modeling (CIM) Development White Paper (Index Report)” (hereinafter referred to as the “White Paper”) worked out by CIM Network was officially published on February 21, 2022. The full text of the white paper is 380 pages in total. The white paper was compiled from more than 30 units across the country, with more than 50 experts, scholars and industry practitioners participating, including CIM network member units, strategic cooperation units, joint R&D units, members of the advisory expert group, etc. SUCC, as the co-editor, its Urban Operation and Management School Dean Huang Liang, Vice Dean Bao Yan, and professional teacher Dr. Liu Ting participated in the preparation as co-editors.
The opening chapter of CIM white paper was prefaced by Huang Liang, Chang Hai, Chairman of Shenzhen Qianhai Digital City Technology Co., Ltd., Chen Shunqing, Chairman of Augur Technology Co., Ltd., Yue Tao, Chairman of Beijing NavInfo Technology Co., Ltd., Song Bin, CEO of Beijing Freedo Technology Co., Ltd., Shen Jian, chief architect of Aliyun’s natural resources industry line, and Che Dengke, chairman of the labor union of China Coal (Xi’an) Underground Space Technology Development Co., Ltd., totaling seven articles. The seven prefaces are concise, but full of the experts’ thoughts and insights on the implementation of CIM policy, their vision and expectations on the future development of CIM industry, their practice and experience on the construction of CIM platform, as well as their recognition and support for the industry research work done by CIM Network.
The white paper aims to present the current development status of the CIM industry. It is supported by data and mainly composed of research results. It faces the “14th Five-Year Plan” and the long-term goals of 2035, and provides professional and instructive reference opinions according to the actual needs of industry development. The main text consists of ten chapters, including: CIM Policy, CIM Recruitment, CIM Market, CIM Industry Development, CIM Information Activities, CIM Academic, CIM Talent Training, CIM Network Hot Spot Analysis, CIM Network Services and Activities Introduction, CIM Cases, and an appendix.
Taking the opportunity of serving the country and Shanghai “digital development” strategy, the school established the Urban Operation and Management School and the “Yangtze River Delta City Smart Management Institute” to provide refined management of megacities, urban smart management, park smart management, community smart management, research, consulting, teaching, training and other services of building smart management; organization services of urban smart management teaching and research forums; urban smart management technology research and development and achievement transformation services; domestic and foreign exchange, teacher training, skills competition planning, organization and implementation services, etc. In the next stage, SUCC will further strengthen cooperation with the “City Information Model CIM Network” platform and enterprises and research institutions in the CIM industry to jointly promote the development of my country’s CIM industry and personnel training.
