School of Food and Tourism Hosts Farewell Gathering for 2024 Thai International Students

On January 7, the School of Food and Tourism held a farewell gathering for its 2024 cohort of Thai international students at the Fengxian Campus. Representatives from the International Cooperation Division, key school leaders, and relevant faculty members attended the event to reflect on the past and look toward the future with the Thai students nearing the end of their studies.

 

The gathering briefly reviewed the Thai students' academic and campus life experiences. The Thai students presented captivating cultural performances, and faculty and students engaged in discussions about learning insights, practical gains, and memorable anecdotes. Ying Yayong, Secretary of the Party Branch of the School of Food and Tourism, congratulated the Thai students on successfully completing their studies. She expressed gratitude for the multicultural vitality they brought to the school and encouraged them to pursue bright futures as bridges of friendship between China and Thailand. Yu Limin, Director of the International Cooperation Division, commended the Thai students' outstanding performanceduring their time at the university. She hoped they would cherish their wonderful experiences in China, Shanghai, and the school, and continue supporting the university's development while contributing to promoting cultural exchanges between China and Thailand.


  The event featured a Chinese cultural experience segment. Through rubbing and calligraphy exchanges, Thai students personally experienced rubbing techniques and wrote Chinese characters under instructor guidance, immersing themselves in the profound heritage of traditional Chinese culture. During the Sino-Thai culinary exchange, faculty and students shared signature pastries and snacks from both countries, deepening mutual understanding of each other's food cultures while bringing the farewell gathering to a perfect close.

 

This farewell gathering not only recognized the academic achievements of the Class of 2024 Thai international students but also served as a profound exchange of Chinese and Thai cultures and a bonding of sentiments. May they carry the knowledge and memories gained in China into their new life stages, continuing to contribute to the enhancement of friendship and cooperation between China and Thailand.
