SUCC Sent a Delegation to the 2019 WorldSkills Competition in Russia

The 45th WorldSkills Competition was held in Kazan, Russia from August 22nd to 27th. In order to gain a thorough understanding of the technical standards, competition procedures and organizational forms of the WSC and to improve SUCC’s skill levels to meet the demand of the WSC, Vice President Guo Hongtao and Fan Xin, Dean of School of Public Management & Services, attended the delegation group organized by Shanghai Education Commission. The delegation viewed the preparations for the opening of the Competition and learned the programs setting and technical standards of the world-class competition. Three teachers, Wu Xiangxiang and Wang Jiancheng from School of Civil & Transportation Engineering and Liu Fuling from School of Electromechanical Engineering & Information, as technical observers, studied onsite, discussed and exchanged the standards, propositions, judging principles and skills with the Judge Panel of WSC.







The WSC, held every two years, is the world’s highest-ranking, largest and most influential professional skills competition. It is known as the “World Skills Olympics” and represents the world-class level of professional skills. It is also an essential platform for the members of the WorldSkills organization to display and exchange professional skills. In this Competition, a total of 1,355 competitors from 69 member countries competed in 56 events of 6 major categories. A total of 63 competitors from the Chinese delegation participated in all 56 events for the first time, and finally won the first place in the group total score.
