After half a year, the first phase of the BIM Production, Teaching and Research International Collaboration Center of SUCC was successfully completed under the joint efforts of the secondary colleges (incl. the International Exchange College and the Civil and Transportation Engineering College), the Development Planning Office, the Asset Management Office and the Logistics Security Office.
The BIM Production, Teaching and Research International Collaboration Center is located in the wing building of Building A in the Yangpu Campus. It is a multi-functional multi-disciplinary and multi-field production, teaching and research center iintegrating BIM, MR, VR, AR, human-computer interaction, Internet of Things, intelligent identification and other information technologies. The Center has four functional rooms—the BIM operation and maintenance training room, the BIM 3D printing training room, the BIM MR (mixed reality) training room, and the BIM reverse reality training room.
On the afternoon of September 30, Chu Min (the secretary of SUCC Party Committee), Ye Yinzhong (the president of SUCC) and Guo Hongtao (the vice president of SUCC) came to and inspect the BIM Production, Teaching and Research International Collaboration Center, and offered some guidance. Cai Weiqing (the dean of the International Exchange College), Du Licheng (the associate dean of the College) and Fan Xincai (the deputy director of the Experimental Training Center) accompanied them for the inspection.
The leaders of SUCC firstly listened to the report of Associate Professor Zheng Sheng, the director of the Construction Project Management (China-Canada cooperation) Major, on the first-phase construction of the BIM Production, Teaching and Research International Collaboration Center, then visited the training rooms of the BIM Center, and personally experienced the latest technologies. The SUCC leaders highly affirmed the completion of the BIM Production, Teaching and Research International Collaboration Center, and further instructed the subsequent in-depth improvement. Internally, the completion of the Center has established a platform for resource sharing, optimizing the training resources, improving the quality of practical training and the level of practical education, providing a basis for deepening the reform of education and teaching and promoting the construction of smart campuses. Externally, the Center, as a link for school-enterprise cooperation, will promote the integration of production, teaching and research, and become an important base for cultivating college students’ practical ability and innovative spirits.
