From May 16 to 17, the "Exchange Seminar on Governance Modernization of Higher Vocational Colleges and Training Course on Improving Governance Modernization Ability of Higher Vocational Colleges" sponsored by the Alliance for Construction and Development of Governance System of Higher Vocational Education was held in Beijing College of Finance and Commerce. More than 140 party and administrative bodies and managers from 75 higher vocational colleges across China attended the seminar. Professor Ye Yinzhong (President) and Professor Rong Siping (Chief of the Office of Planning, Management and Quality Assessment) were invited.

During the meeting, Lin Yu, Chief of the Center for Vocational Education Development of the Ministry of Education, delivered a keynote speech. He analyzed the current situation and future development goals of vocational education, and proposed that vocational colleges should be guided by school-running orientation to connect with industries and integrate into local areas; take major construction as the carrier to consolidate the foundation and improve the level; take national projects as the starting point to improve conditions and quality; take digital transformation as an opportunity to seize opportunities and promote reform.

Ye Yinzhong gave a case report entitled "Jointly Establishing Specialized Clusters between Schools and Enterprises, Thus Unveiling a New Chapter", introducing to sister colleges and universities the work and achievements of SUCC in vigorously promoting the optimization and adjustment of major layout, promoting the construction of major clusters and enhancing the fit with industrial development in recent years. It is reported that a number of excellent cases will be collected and published by the Alliance.

The meeting established the Governance Evaluation Committee for Higher Vocational Colleges, with Ye Yinzhong appointed as Executive Deputy Chief and Rong Siping appointed as Deputy Secretary-General.

The Alliance for Construction and Development of Governance System of Higher Vocational Education is a platform organization established in 2020 under the guidance of the Organizing Committee of the World Conference on TVET to modernize the governance system and capacity of higher vocational colleges, with SUCC as its vice-chairman unit. Actively participating in the relevant activities will foster increased collaboration with peer institutions, promote advancements in internal governance, and support the goal of developing a robust vocational education system and fast-tracking the establishment of vocational undergraduate universities.
