From September 20th to 27th, a training camp for the international project teams taking part in the 6th China College Students’ “Internet Plus" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Training Camp was organized and held successfully. The training was open to the international project teams and instructors recommended by SUCC for the competition. Team members from Thai and Japanese universities took part in the training online.
Gan Aipin, Vice President, Yu Limin, Director of the International Cooperation Division, Song Baihong, Dean of the School of Innovation & Entrepreneurship as well as officials from the School of Health and Social Services, the Teaching Affairs Office and the Science & Technology Office attended the closing ceremony of the training camp.
In his closing remarks, Vice President Gan Aipin noted that the success of this training camp manifested the school's achievement in cultivating talents of innovation and entrepreneurship as well as its strength in international cooperative education. He put forward three requirements and expectations for the work of innovation and entrepreneurship education. The first is to summarize the experience and carry out the concept of "promoting learning, education and reform through competition”. That is, take the competition activity as an opportunity to improve education. The second is to innovate the working method and combine online and offline training under the requirement of epidemic prevention and control. Thirdly, take the training camp as an opportunity to build an open and shared platform for international innovation and entrepreneurship, and promote development of the SUCC international exchange and cooperation.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Ron Berger from Sheffield Hallam University spoke on behalf of training experts and encouraged students to always maintain a sense of innovation, to carry on with experiment and practice, and to improve and surpass themselves.
This 8-day training camp was organized in the form of online course, project development and roadshows. Renowned experts and professors from Tongji University, Sheffield Hallam University, IDRAC Business School, Ben-Gurion University, University of Duisburg-Essen, among others, led workshops on innovative thinking, entrepreneurial branding, risk response in the post-epidemic era as well as business plan formulation and optimization. The training helped nurture international vision and awareness, and improve students’ international competitiveness. It placed equal emphasis on theoretical teaching sessions and innovation practice, and carried out roadshows, project defense and coaching sessions to enhance students' practical skills and improve their projects.
