On the afternoon of October 8, SUCC organized a 2019 Expert Demonstration Conference for Newly-Proposed Majors in the conference room of the library in the Yangpu Campus. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Guo Hongtao. The members of the expert group, the deans of the colleges with the newly-proposed majors, the major leaders, and relevant personnel from the Office of Academic Affairs attended the Conference. The invited experts of included Xu Guoliang (the director of the Professional Construction Consulting and Service Center of Shanghai Education Evaluation Association0, Wu Peiniu (former president of Shanghai Jianfeng Vocational and Technical College) and Chen Xibao (former president of Shanghai Urban Management Vocational and Technical College).
In 2019, the newly-proposed majors of SUCC include Elderly Service and Management, Road and Bridge Engineering Technology, Information Management of Construction Project, Logistics Management (Railway), and Property Management (Intelligent Management). The responsible persons of each major reported on the necessity, feasibility, personnel training plan and professional development plan of the newly-proposed majors. The evaluation expert group conducted a full demonstration from the aspects of student enrollment and employment prospects, market demand, teacher team allocation, and training base construction. The experts unanimously believed that the new majors were clearly oriented, the content of the demonstration materials was informative, and that the professional setup was closely integrated with the national “Belt and Road” strategy, regional economic development and industrial structure transformation and upgrading trend, was consistent with SUCC’s school orientation, professional construction and development planning, reflected the SUCC’s school-running characteristics.
Guo Hongtao indicated that SUCC would further optimize and adjust the layouts of the majors according to the adaptation of talent training and industrial development, professional competitiveness and sustainable development capabilities, and promote professional construction. The success of the Expert Demonstration Conference for Newly-Proposed Majors will further promote the optimization of the professional structure of SUCC and upgrade the quality of personnel training.
