Reported by LiuYilin, Correspondent at Eastday.com: Recently, the unveiling ceremony of the Low-altitude Intelligent Mapping Technology and Application Research Institute of Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College was successfully held. The meeting revealed that the institute takes "data intelligence drives low-altitude innovation" as its core concept, focuses on the integrated application of low-altitude economy and intelligent surveying and mapping technology, and lays out in six core directions around policies and regulations and airspace management reform, core technology research, application scenario expansion and commercialization, security system construction, industrial chain collaboration and industry-education integration. Through the closed-loop ecology of "technology-talent-industry", it focuses on making breakthroughs in key technologies such as low-altitude geospatial data services, navigation and positioning enhancement, route optimization, etc., and developing "customized urban construction" solutions, such as building inspection drones, urban management inspection drones, etc., to provide professional support for the development of low-altitude economy related fields.
Zhang Zhengrong, President of Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College, said that the establishment of the Low-altitude Intelligent Mapping Technology and Application Research Institute is an inevitable choice to respond to national strategies and serve regional economic development. The college will seize development opportunities to advance the low-altitude economy, focusing on cultivating and building high-level professional groups. In terms of talent cultivation, by building a "low-altitude geographic information engineering" curriculum system, it will jointly open order classes with enterprises to cultivate compound skilled talents with drone pilot certification from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and data processing and scenario application capabilities. At the same time, the institute will build a comprehensive platform integrating technology research and development, standard setting, and social services, continue to deepen the "government-school-enterprise" linkage, help upgrade the low-altitude economy industry chain, and provide a "vocational education model" for smart city construction and emerging industry development.
A donation ceremony for cooperative enterprises and an awarding ceremony for off-campus training bases were also held at the meeting site. Nearly 100 representatives from Tongji University, more than 20 industry and enterprise units, and college teachers and students attended the event.
