SUCC Signed Cooperation Agreements with KazGASA College

On June 19, Yerassyl Mamyrbekov, Director of KazGASA College in Kazakhstan, Kairosh Dilimbetov, Vice Director of KazGASA College, Talgat Mamyruly, President of the International Kazakh-Chinese Language College, and Farida Merkhamitkyzy, Director of International Kazakh-Chinese Language College, visited the Fengxian Campus of SUCC and attended a signing ceremony. Zhang Zhengrong, President of SUCC, warmly received them.


Zhang Zhengrong pointed out in his speech that Kazakhstan is the place where the initiative of jointly building the Belt and Road was first proposed, and that the exchanges and cooperation between China and Kazakhstan have been continuously deepened in the field of education. This year, SUCC has signed a cooperation agreement with several vocational colleges in Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan, and the cooperation with Kazakh vocational colleges is progressing steadily. He mentioned that at the just-concluded Second China-Central Asia Summit, Shanghai and Almaty signed an agreement to become sister cities. He hoped that the two sides could take this agreement as an opportunity to establish cultural centers in each other's places, promote teacher and student exchanges, cultivate outstanding young professionals, and jointly strive to strengthen the cooperation between Shanghai and Almaty in the field of vocational and technical education.


Yerassyl Mamyrbekov expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of SUCC and provided a detailed overview of the KazGASA College, including its history, scale, and academic programs. He emphasized the strong alignment between the two institutions' programs and the promising prospects for collaboration. He pointed out that the 48th World Skills Competition will be held in Shanghai next year, and Kazakh colleges are very willing to learn from SUCC's experience in preparing for the competition and hope to cooperate with SUCC in joint preparation. He expressed his strong desire for practical cooperation in student exchange, teacher training, credit recognition, industry-university partnerships, and the establishment of branch campuses, all with the goal of jointly cultivating high-quality technical and skilled professionals.


At the signing ceremony, Zhang Zhengrong and Yerassyl Mamyrbekov signed a cooperation agreement and exchanged gifts.


During the conference exchange session, Talgat Mamyruly shared insights into the Chinese language teaching and international cooperation initiatives of the International Kazakh-Chinese Language College. Gao Shoulei, Dean of the School of Architecture & Environment Art, introduced in detail the school's programs, including Architectural Design, Restoration and Protection of Cultural Relics, Ancient Architectural Engineering, Art Design, and Architectural Ornament Engineering, focusing on competency development, career prospects, core courses, teaching outcomes, and curriculum development. The Chinese and Kazakh sides exchanged views on many aspects such as short-term and long-term student programs in China and the establishment of training bases.

Yerassyl Mamyrbekov, Talgat Mamyruly, and their delegation also visited the relevant professional training rooms of the School of Application of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Architecture & Environment Art, the School of Food & Tourism, and the School of Health & Social Care of SUCC, and highly praised the complete facilities and perfect practical teaching concepts of the training rooms.


Shao Dongdong, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the School of Architecture & Environment Art, Zhang Yunbin, Dean of the School of Food & Tourism, Yu Limin, Director of the International Cooperation Division, Huang Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of the Department of General Studies, Zhu Feng, Deputy Dean of the School of Application of Artificial Intelligence, Gao Furong, Deputy Dean of the School of Health & Social Care, Wang Aihua, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Division, and relevant staff members of the International Cooperation Division attended the signing ceremony.


The next day, Yerassyl Mamyrbekov, Talgat Mamyruly and their delegation visited and studied at the Fengxian Museum and Yanzi Academy, conducted on-site research at the construction site of the Shanghai Grand Opera House, immersing themselves in Shanghai's rich cultural heritage and technological advancements. They expressed high appreciation for Shanghai's achievements in cultural preservation and the construction of modern large-scale public facilities.


In May this year, Mr. Aigazy Kussainov, Chairman of the Board of International Education Corporation (IEC), visited SUCC and reached a cooperation intention. As a college of the IEC, KazGASA College offers majors such as architectural design, graphic and multimedia design, and welding. The signing of this cooperation agreement will further deepen the cooperation between SUCC and Kazakh vocational colleges and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of the BRI's education initiative.
