SUCC 2019 International Culture Festival Opens Up

On November 12th, the opening ceremony of 2019 SUCC International Culture Festival was held in the Multi-function Hall of Fengxian Campus. Chu Min, CPC Party Secretary of SUCC, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Ms. Rachaneekorn, Vocational Education Development and Research Expert of Institute of Vocational Education Bangkok, Mr. Les Griffiths, teacher representative of NPTC, UK, and 9 representatives of Thai vocational teachers, 10 Thai international students, as well as School Deans and Division Chiefs of SUCC, and teachers and students representatives attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Yang Luyuan from Architectural Design speciality and Thai student Ping Sili delivered speeches respectively. Mr. Griffiths from NPTC shared his understanding of vocational education and modern apprenticeship from his own study, employment and teaching experience.


Chu Min welcomed the Thai and British guests from afar, as well as the Thai international students who have come to SUCC for further study. In his speech, he briefly reviewed the achievements of SUCC in international exchanges and cooperation in the past three years, and remarked that SUCC’s speciality construction  are increasingly “international”. He hopes, through “international education”, further promote the building of national high quality professional vocational colleges and first-class higher vocational colleges in Shanghai. He pointed out that, strengthening international cultural exchanges is an important driving force for the construction of university culture. In the process of cultural exchange and integration, inheriting and promoting Chinese culture while absorbing excellent foreign culture will effectively promote mutual understanding between China and the rest of the world.

Chu also said, “We should embrace the world with equality, respect and love, and embrace different cultures in the world with appreciation, tolerance and mutual learning.” He vividly interpreted the theme of the series of activities held by SUCC: promoting international exchanges and mutual learning and boosting cultural integration and sharing. At the opening ceremony, the Thai international students, with classic Thai traditional dance, showed the beauty of Thai culture.
