Recently, the 46th World Skills Competition Preparation Week Conference “Workshop Managers Meeting” was successfully held in the World Reception Room. Wang Jiancheng and Wu Xiangxiang, teachers of the School of Digital Construction, won the title of “Excellent Workshop Manager” in the 46th World Skills Competition in Shanghai.

As the national and Shanghai training base of the World Skills Competition for the two projects of “Bricklaying” and “Concrete Construction”, the School of Digital Construction attaches great importance to the preparation and guarantees work of the 46th World Skills Competition, and always adheres to the standards of the World Skills Competition and talent training plan and curriculum standards, promoting teaching and learning through competition, and promoting high-quality development of professional construction, cultivating high-quality skilled talents. Since April 2018, the 46th Shanghai World Skills Competition has started to build a team of workshop managers. After recruitment and selection, and through the review and certification of the World Skills Organization, 167 candidates were finally selected from the vocational colleges and enterprise groups in Shanghai. The workshop manager team includes 16 workshop area managers and 151 workshop managers. As the designer and manager of the competition workshop, the workshop manager not only needs to have excellent technical ability and professional knowledge, but also good communication, coordination and teamwork ability, and also requires a good competence in English.

A total of more than 800 Chinese and foreign personnel attended the meeting to study and determine the facilities, equipment, technical standards and other information of each competition project, so as to prepare for the organization and participation of the competition. Shanghai will usher in the 46th World Skills Competition in October this year. As the national training base for the bricklaying project of the World Skills Competition and the Shanghai training base for the concrete construction project, SUCC will continue to do a good job in various guarantees and make contribution to holding competition smoothly.
