During the two days of October 22nd and 23rd, 2021 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition and the 2nd Artificial Intelligence Robot Application Technology Competition were successfully held at Shenzhen Polytechnic, which attracted 36 teams and 100 participants from universities and colleges nationwide. Ji Yong, Bie Hongling, Lu Mingxu and Zhang Yang, the mechatronics technology and intelligent control technology team of the School of Artificial Intelligence Application of our college took the initiative in organizing students to participate in the competition. After a two-day fierce competition, Team 1 of Li Song and Che Liwen with Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College successfully advanced to the China International Competition of this event upon winning the First Prize for Teams in this season; Team 2 of Lu Tao and Jin Jiawei with Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College won the Excellence Award for Teams.
The competition was hosted by the Chinese Council of the BRICS Business Council, Belt & Road and BRICS International Alliance for Skills Development, and the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technological Innovation Training Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, jointly sponsored by the China Association of Inventions and the China-Foreign Cultural Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, undertaken by the Working Group for Skills Development of the BRICS Business Council (China), as well as Shenzhen Polytechnic, Shenzhen Yuejiang Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
The competition, composed of domestic and international sessions, fell into the fields of artificial intelligence open platform deployment, data annotation, model construction, artificial intelligence system development and construction, intelligent robot system installation and debugging, path optimization, etc., to assess the abilities of contestants in the fields of intelligent vision, speech recognition and natural language processing, and cultivate the contestants’ comprehensive application abilities in the fields of artificial intelligence open platform deployment, data annotation, model construction, artificial intelligence system development and construction, intelligent robot system installation and debugging and path optimization, as well the overall professionalism in engineering practice, innovative application and team cooperation, and accelerate the process of career transformation through production safety competition scenes close to the real situation, so as to prepare skilled innovative professionals for industries and enterprises.
This competition represents an active try of our college in exploring the mode of training for qualified, skilled professionals with a global vision for the future, as well as a solid step towards the further development of education in the field of “artificial intelligence +”.
