On the morning of September 28, the International Cooperation Division organized a training session for international student counselors for the fall semester of 2025. International student counselors from the School of Health & Social Care, the School of Digital Construction, the School of Business Administration, and the School of Architecture & Environment Art, as well as relevant staff from the International Cooperation Division and the Department of General Studies, participated in this training. The session was chaired by Wang Aihua, the Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Division.
During the session, Wang Aihua gave a brief introduction to the background and cultivation of international students enrolled at SUCC. She mentioned that the management of international students must be based on the national strategy of opening up education to the outside world, cultivating young talents with a global vision who identify with the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. "Convergent management" is the core principle of international student management. Counselors should place importance on the dialectical unity of "convergence" and "individualization" in their actual work, applying the same management logic and standards as for domestic students while also taking into account the particularities of international students. They should provide guidance for cross-cultural adaptation and necessary support for international students facing living difficulties.
Wang Yanyi from the International Cooperation Division provided a detailed interpretation and practical training on the enrollment process and daily management of international students for the fall semester of 2025, based on the 2025 Edition of the International Student Handbook of Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College. During the exchange segment, the counselors focused on discussing the details of subsequent foreign-related procedures for international students. The International Cooperation Division coordinated and addressed specific questions and concerns encountered in the management of international students.
This training focused on the key tasks involved in the management of international students for the fall semester of 2025. Through policy interpretation, practical training, and interactive discussions, it provided a detailed breakdown of the enrollment process and daily management of international students, thereby laying a solid foundation for the effective provision of international student management services in the future.
