On the afternoon of June 3rd, Les Griffiths, a British vocational education expert and professional reviewer of the NPTC education quality assurance team, was invited by SUCC International Cooperation Division to provide an online lecture named “British Education Quality Assurance System” for relevant SUCC teachers through the Tencent conference platform. A total of 35 SUCC teachers and relevant program leaders attended the lecture, and learned a full understanding of the British education quality assurance system and its specific implementation steps in Les Griffiths’ comprehensive illustrations.

This lecture was divided into two parts. The first half was a general introduction to the British education quality assurance system, and the second took NPTC as an example to explain in detail how to ensure education quality at a school level. The British vocational education evaluation system consists of internal and external evaluations, and aims to guarantee the quality of talent cultivation. The IQA (Internal Quality Assurance) as a management method plays a key role in promoting school education management and improving education quality.

In the lecture, Les Griffiths introduced the current status of the British education quality assessment system, and shared the underlying pedagogical principles. In the part of school implementation, he prepared many cases to vividly show the process of the internal education quality assessment in schools. In the Q&A part, Zhang Jinyu, one of the heads of SUCC Sino-British cooperation programs, conducted an in-depth discussion with the British expert on the practice of the Sino-UK high-level professional programs of SUCC. The online lecture was fully praised by the participant teachers as it helped answer their specific questions on how to ensure education quality.

This lecture is one of the serial online activities organized by SUCC to promote its high-level Sino-UK programs. During the anti-epidemic period, the teachers of SUCC Sino-UK cooperative programs and British vocational education experts have gathered online to discuss, learn and share. Such moves have also strived to make all-round preparations for SUCC to build a professional certification system in line with international standards.
