Mr. Zhang Zhengrong extended a warm welcome to the guests from Uzbekistan. He introduced the overall situation and international development achievements of SUCC to the guests, especially highlighting the exchanges and cooperation between SUCC and universities in Uzbekistan. Mr. Zhang mentioned that last year, SUCC set up a course titled "Chinese + Prevention and Control of Nosocomial Infection" for students from Tashkent Medical Academy. This year, eight students from Uzbekistan State University of World Languages participated in a short-term program focusing on Chinese language and culture at SUCC. Our high-quality teaching and excellent teachers have been well-received by the young students. He said that the educational cooperation between China and Uzbekistan has been boosted under the Belt and Road Initiative, underscoring the rising significance of Chinese as a communication media and a technical tool. He anticipated that the two universities will collaborate in areas such as talent cultivation, teacher development, and Chinese teaching resource development, thereby jointly establishing brand projects for cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Uzbekistan.
Mr. Abdugafar Kyrgyzboyev expressed his gratitude for SUCC's warm reception. He noted that since the reform and opening up, China has made remarkable achievements in economic and social development, in which education plays a crucial role. Uzbekistan is promoting various undertakings, and China's advanced experience offers valuable insights for its future progress. In Uzbekistan, Chinese is the second major foreign language. Many primary and secondary schools have launched related courses and universities established related programs. TSPU is the top institution of higher learning in Uzbekistan, featuring technical and vocational colleges. The two colleges have a solid foundation for exchanges and promising prospects for cooperation in Chinese education and skills training.
At the meeting, the two universities conducted in-depth exchanges on program settings, faculty, and development characteristics. They also explored potential collaboration opportunities in areas such as student exchange and teacher training. The two sides hope to take this exchange as a starting point to deepen cooperation and achieve coordinated development.
