Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC) recently received a letter of appreciation from the Executive Bureau of the 46th WorldSkills Competition 2021 to be held in Shanghai, which acknowledged SUCC’s contribution to the organization of the competition. In the upcoming 46th WorldSkills Competition, SUCC faculty members Liu Fuling will be the site manager for “Construction and Building Technology”; Wang Jiancheng, Liu Fei and Yang Haiming will be the site managers for the “Masonry Program”; Wu Xiangxiang and Tang Hong will be the site managers for the “Concrete Building Program”.
According to the letter of appreciation, the above faculty members showed a strong sense of responsibility in their work and maintained good communication and collaboration with officials of the Organizing Committee of WorldSkills China. They also made technical contacts with the global partners and long-term and potential suppliers of the WorldSkills Competition, and facilitated the suppliers to reach preliminary agreements on sponsoring the items to be used during the competition. The faculty teachers worked hard to overcome the adverse effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and completed various tasks in 2020 with excellence, playing an important role in advancing the organization and preparation of the WorldSkills Competition. Wang Jiancheng was rated as an outstanding site manager in the Site Manager Assessment 2020.
Holding the 46th WorldSkills Competition in Shanghai is an important decision made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council. In order to fully implement the important instruction of General Secretary Xi Jinping on “striving to hold an innovative and influential WorldSkills Competition”, SUCC has consistently participated in and supported the Executive Bureau of the WorldSkills Competition Shanghai in accordance with the requirements of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government in a bid to contribute to the effective and efficient preparations for the competition.
