In the afternoon of December 27, the International Cooperation and Exchange Working Committee of the Chinese Society for Vocational and Technical Education (hereinafter referred to as the “International Working Committee”) held a general meeting and elected the deputy director, secretary-general, standing committee and members of the second working committee. The new International Working Committee is headed by Jiang Feng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai International Studies University. President Ye Yinzhong of SUCC was elected as the deputy director, and our school became a member of the committee. Ye Yinzhong and relevant officials and teachers from the International Exchange Office, Basic Teaching Department, School of Health and Social Care, School of Continuing Education of SUCC participated in the online meeting.

The meeting adopted a combination of online and offline, with three offline subsites in Shenzhen, Beijing and Shanghai. A seminar on international cooperation and exchange work was held online after the general election meeting. Liu Jin, Department Chief of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, Mao Lijuan, Deputy Director of Shanghai Education Commission, Liu Jiantong, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Society for Vocational and Technical Education, Wu Zhiqiang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor of Tongji University, and other leaders, experts and representatives of all member units attended the seminar and delivered speeches. Jiang Feng made a report on the five-year work plan of the second International Cooperation and Exchange Working Committee.

Lu Xin, President of China Society for Vocational and Technical Education, former Vice Minister of Ministry of Education and Director of the Expert Committee of the International Cooperation and Exchange Working Committee, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Building a Human Community with a Shared Future: The Historical Role of High-quality Modern Vocational Education”. The report explained in depth China’s historical role in developing high-quality modern vocational education from four aspects: “China’s thinking on vocational education, China’s contribution to vocational education, China’s practice in vocational education, and China’s solutions to vocational education”.

Established in 2015, the International Cooperation and Exchange Committee of China Society for Vocational and Technical Education is a branch of China Society for Vocational and Technical Education, dedicated to carrying out academic activities on internationalization of vocational education, researching policies, theories and practices on internationalization of vocational education, serving the development of national vocational education and macro policy-making, and serving the development of local, industrial and vocational colleges. In the future, SUCC will rely on the platform of the International Working Committee, constantly broaden vision, develop ideas, actively carry out special research on the international development of vocational education, accelerate the process of “Going Global”, and enhance the international influence and competitiveness of the university.
