On April 26, the SUCC’s headmaster Ye Yinzhong and vice headmaster Guo Hongtao, attended the SUCC’s kick-off meeting of the 8th China International "Internet+" College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition which was held via Tencent. At the same time, the director, deputy secretary, officials of relevant departments, secretary of the Youth League Committee of the secondary college, counselors and creative teachers also attended visually. The meeting was chaired by Song Baihong, the director of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

At the meeting, Guo Hongtao delivered a speech and put forward three requirements for the organization and preparation in the new round of competition and the work of entrepreneurship and innovation education. First, we should attach great importance to the popularity and mobilization. All secondary colleges should plan, deploy, publicize and launch as soon as possible, and establish a coordinated working mechanism for the competition. In doing so, such efforts were made to let more teachers and students join comprehensively the competition held by SUCC. Second, the competition-led development. Higher quality innovation and entrepreneurship talent training will be empowered by the competition. She proposed we should adhere to the concept of learning, teaching and reform through competition, take the opportunity provided by the competition, and integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education into the whole process of sorts of quality education and talent training. In addition, we should make full use of professional advantages to develop specialized and innovative projects, practical ability as well as spirit of model worker and craftsmanship. Third, further reform will be deepened to create an innovative talent model. With the top priority of the competition, SUCC will continue to cultivate entrepreneurship and innovation talents, build up relative faculty, and give a support to the incubation of entrepreneurship projects and shared resource, thus creating a group of the innovative youth with firm ideals and beliefs in the new era.

Song Baihong made an introduction to the "Internet +" competition followed by the background, scale, characteristics, requirements and new changes. And then, previous competitions in the SUCC and overall schedule of this competition were explained in details. She said, "positive interaction between the targeted college and secondary school of will be intensified to promote the project of cultivation and selection, and a long-term project reservation and incubation mechanism will also be established. After that, we should play the role of innovative mentors, strictly control the project selection and related link, particularly during the pandemic. And we will improve the online running mechanism so as to give multifaceted training guidance and resource guarantee for the participating projects, do a good job in the preparation and service, and make every effort to create favorable conditions for the smooth development.  

In his speech, Ye Yinzhong highly recognized SUCC’s achievements made in the previous competitions and said such great progress in the "Internet +" competition celebrated by SUCC were achieved through full cooperation of all departments. He also pointed out that the core of the "Internet plus" competition served as an important guidance and basic principle for SUCC to carry out innovation and entrepreneurship education. Three expectations are provided by him. All secondary colleges should pay attention to the mutual cooperation and assign special persons to take charge of events and activities. The whole workers in the SUCC should promote teaching, learning and innovation through competitions with all-round works. Second, we should make greater efforts in various ways to improve the quality. Based on the ideological and political thought, we should combine courses with competitions to enhance students' participation. He said  it is necessary to sum up experience, take a integrated way of selection and training, gather relative experts inside and outside, innovation practice base and other educational resources to strengthen project guidance and create high-level projects. And we should try more courses on the basis of main courses of vocational education, for expanded content. Third, with epidemic prevention and control, the competition training and guidance should be implemented with a combination of online and offline technologies. He said the competition should be viewed from a high perspective, which was not a major driving force for talent training mode and quality talent training, but also an important standard to test the result made by SUCC. 

The 8th China international "Internet+" college students innovation and entrepreneurship competition was jointly organized by the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Academic Affairs Office, Science and Technology Office, Ministry of Students and Industry and Youth League Committee for the smooth progress. School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, a leading department in the SUCC, will continue to make "Internet +" series including innovation and entrepreneurship competition an important carrier and platform for educational reform proposed by SUCC. Competition achievements will be transformed in line with industry, college and research, constantly summary training mode and effective way in innovation and entrepreneurship. We will take solid steps to explore application-oriented talents training owned by SUCC, build a high-level and demonstrative vocational undergraduate for vocational education, so as to provide strong talent and skill for regional economic and social construction.
