On October 20, a total of 100 young volunteers of SUCC gathered at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (shanghai) to participate in the oath and registration ceremony of the volunteers for the first China International Import Expo (CIIE). Yin Hong, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Wu Qing, deputy mayor of Shanghai, presented a flag to the CIIE volunteer team. At the ceremony, the young volunteers of SUCC made a powerful and solemn oath, waved the flag with young enthusiasm, shouted out the slogan of “serving the CIIE” with the loudest voice, and presented the confidence and determination of making all the efforts to contribute to the CIIE.

The first CIIE is a major decision made by the Party Central Committee with President Xi Jinping as the core as well as a major political task that Shanghai must complete. SUCC Party Committee attached great importance to the volunteer work of the CIIE. Gan Aipin, the vice president of SUCC, cordially greeted the volunteers before the ceremony and encouraged the students to make progress and successfully complete volunteer works of the CIIE. The Youth League Committee of SUCC fully exerts the role of the Volunteer Command Center of the CIIE, and implements the organization and coordination tasks of the CIIE volunteers. The Logistics Security Office, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Student Office, the Finance Department and other relevant functional departments and the secondary colleges cooperated and actively supported the work to provide a comprehensive and comprehensive guarantee for the volunteers to carry out quality services.

Since August 2018, the League Committee of SUCC has completed the recruitment of the CIIE volunteers in an orderly manner with the standards of “qualified political quality, excellent business ability, high foreign language level and good spiritual status”. According to the seven outstanding quality originals of the youth volunteers of SUCC-- “Dedication, Friendship, Mutual Aid, Progress, Unity, Tenacity, and Trustworthiness”, the logo of the “SUCC Heart” volunteer team was designed with a seven-leaf grass. When the eyes of the world once again focus on Shanghai, the “SUCC Heart” volunteers are believed to show the image of SUCC people with warmth and responsibility on the international stage, and to inject the youthful and positive energy that is willing to contribute and dare to take responsibility for the CIIE! The seven-leaf grass of the “SUCC Heart” will bloom in the most beautiful colors in the CIIE!
