On June 4, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC) and Taylor’s University and the inauguration ceremony of the Luban School at Taylor’s University, co-organized by the School of Continuing Education and International Cooperation Division, took place at the Jing’an Campus in the form of a video conference. Professor Pradeep Nair, Deputy President of Taylor’s University, Professor David Asirvatham, Executive Dean of Faculty of Innovation & Technology, Professor WU Fengping, Dean of School of Architecture and Design, YANG Xiufang, Vice President of the SUCC as well as heads of the International Cooperation Division, Academic Affairs Office, School of Continuing Education, and the Construction Cost Program attended the event. The ceremony was moderated by YU Limin, Director of the International Cooperation Division.
Ms. YANG Xiufang and Prof. Pradeep both spoke at the event. Ms. Yang introduced the achievements of the SUCC in international exchange and cooperation, and noted that the signing of the MOU with Taylor’s University was not only a fruitful outcome of mutual trust and consensus between the two institutions over the recent period, but also a new breakthrough in furthering SUCC’s international cooperation. Prof. Pradeep expressed that the Taylor’s University was proud to be a partner of the SUCC, and hoped that the pandemic would soon end so that the two institutions could visit each other more frequently for cooperation in the future and for working together to change the world through education.
The two sides signed the MOU and jointly inaugurated the Luban School at the event.
The SUCC has been working closely with the Taylor’s University. Taylor’s University has sent scholars to China to participate in the international talent training course on Belt and Road infrastructure construction hosted by the SUCC, and the SUCC has sent over seven experts to conduct teaching activities at the Taylor’s University. The successful signing of the MOU and the launch of the Luban School at the Taylor’s University is a new starting point for the establishment of the Luban School brand overseas, and a new step for in-depth cooperation between the school and the Taylor’s University in the areas of curriculum cooperation, personnel training, student exchange, teacher visits, and mutual recognition of credits. This cooperation will lay the foundation for the establishment of a formal partnership between the two institutions in international education cooperation, and lend fresh impetus to the SUCC to further upgrade itself with international influence.
