SUCC Wins Multiple Awards at the EducationPlus 2024 Wuxi International Summit & Exhibition for Applied Education and TVET

    From September 12 to 14, the EducationPlus 2024 Wuxi International Summit & Exhibition for Applied Education and TVET (hereinafter referred to as the "Conference") was held at Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center. This year's ev  ent is positioned as a "platform for industry-education integration and international cooperation and exchange". It combines international conferences, industry-education integration forums, teacher training sessions and a national pavilion from Germany, aiming to share the best practices in international vocational education and to connect high-quality vocational education resources. Concurrently, international summits and specialized forums foster academic exchanges, explore future industry trends, and collaboratively promote the modernization of vocational education. 


    President Ye Yinzhong, Vice President Guo Hongtao, along with the heads of the International Cooperation Division, Department of General Studies, School of Business Administration and School of Municipal and Ecological Engineering, and related faculty members of Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC) attended the conference. Ye Yinzhong was invited to participate in the Seminar on "Going Global with Enterprises" of Vocational Colleges and Universities. He delivered a keynote speech titled "Grasping the New Mission of Vocational Education and Practicing the New Achievements of 'Vocational Education Going Global'". Addressing nearly 300 distinguished guests from renowned enterprises and institutions at home and abroad across more than 10 countries and regions, he shared the new measures and accomplishments achieved by SUCC in the pursuit of vocational education internationalization, which received enthusiastic feedback. The International Cooperation Division took part in the collection of outstanding case studies for the "Going Global: China's Vocational Education Program 2024-Cooperation Achievements in Co-establishing the 'Belt and Road' Vocational Education", as well as the achievement exhibition of the conference, attracting over 2,000 professional visitors.


    At the conference, SUCC was honored with the title of "Typical Institutions for International Exchange and Cooperation in Vocational Education 2024". President Ye Yinzhong received the Outstanding Contribution Award for International Exchange and Cooperation in Vocational Education, while Director Yu Limin of the International Cooperation Division won the "Education Excellence Award for International Exchange and Cooperation in Vocational Education". The case study of international exchange and cooperation achievements was recognized as an outstanding case of vocational education cooperation achievements in the Going Global: China's Vocational Education Program-Cooperation Achievements in Co-establishing 'Belt and Road' Vocational Education. Additionally, the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire awarded SUCC the title of "Excellent Cooperation Unit for Vocational Education 2024".

    Heads and faculty members of relevant secondary colleges of SUCC attended several sub-forums and conferences of the event. The "'Silk Road Chinese' International Chinese Textbook Series", led and edited by teachers from the Department of General Studies, has been officially published and released; The School of Business Administration was designated as a project construction unit for Hungary's National Digital Education Resource Database curriculum standards and digital curriculum development project; Faculty from the School of Municipal and Ecological Engineering participated in the 2024 China-North Africa Seminar on High-quality Development of "Chinese Language + Vocational Skills" Education Cooperation, and were recognized as excellent partners.


    The Conference was jointly guided by the China Vocational Education Association, Wuxi Municipal People's Government, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in China, German Federal Institute for Technical and Vocational Education and Training BIBB, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Baden-Württemberg (Germany), and the EU-China Belt and Road Committee for Culture, Education, Tourism and Economic and Trade Development. It received special support from the Journal of Education and Vocation, Wuxi Municipal Education Bureau, and the Management Committee of Wuxi Economic Development District, and was hosted by the EducationPlus International Vocational Education Conference Organizing Committee.


    SUCC has participated in the EducationPlus International Vocational Education Conference for six consecutive years, engaging in in-depth exchanges with vocational colleges both domestically and internationally through the conference platform. At this conference, SUCC not only once again showcased its latest achievements in vocational education and industry-education integration, but also conveyed its strong commitment to continue striving for the vigorous development of vocational education.
