On December 12th, under the guidance of the Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education (Thailand), the Bangkok Vocational Education Center, China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and the Ministry of Training, the 2019 Sino-Thai Vocational Education Cooperation Development Forum sponsored by the National Vocational Education Alliance for Foreign Cooperation and Tang Chinese Education & Technology Ltd. was held in Shanghai. The International Cooperation Division of SUCC was invited to attend the Forum.

In order to further implement the instructions of the leaders of the two countries on China-Thailand international education cooperation, Phraprommangkalachan (the assistant abbot of Wat Traimit, Thailand), leaders of the Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education (Thailand) and the presidents of more than 20 Thai vocational universities came to Shanghai, and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges with leaders and experts from nearly 40 Chinese universities. The parties attending the Forum agreed to adopt the Shanghai Declaration on the Sino-Thai Vocational Education Cooperation Development, which indicates that China and Thailand work together to create a training system for talents with “shared language, technology, and application” capacities, and establish a CCTE model-based Thailand standard to continuously train talents for the economic cooperation between China and Thailand, and serve the national economic development and the Belt and Road construction of Thailand. 

In order to commend the groups and individuals who have made outstanding contributions in the field of Sino-Thai international education cooperation in 2019, the organizing committee of the Forum rewarded the 2019 China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Outstanding Contribution Awards, and selected the 2019 China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Demonstration Projects. Since SUCC successfully established the Bangkok Branch, recruited and trained overseas students from Thailand, and organized the training of Thai teachers in China in 2019, it has achieved outstanding results in Sino-Thai international education cooperation, and was successfully rewarded the 2019 China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Outstanding Contribution Award and the 2019 China-Thailand Vocational Education Cooperation Demonstration Project.

In the future, based on the overseas branch, SUCC will deepen cooperation with Thai counterparts, set up “Thai Standards”, and actively participate in the construction of disciplines (programs) clusters. Staying true to the mission, SUCC will strive to create high-quality Sino-Thai international education cooperation projects, and actively serve the Belt and Road education cooperation.
