
On the morning of April 30, the university held the safety orientation for international students for the spring semester of 2026 at the Fengxian Campus. The event specially invited officers from The officers from the Fengxian Subbureau of Exit-Entry Administration of Shanghai Public Security Bureau and Zhuanghang Police Station to deliver special safety briefings on studying in China. Attendees included Vice President Guo Hongtao, Director Yu Limin of the International Cooperation Division, Secretary Ying Yayong of the General Party Branch of the School of Food & Tourism, Secretary Wang Xiaoyin of the General Party Branch of the School of Application of Artificial Intelligence, 20 newly enrolled international students, international student counselors, and relevant staff from the International Cooperation Division. The event was chaired by Yu Limin.
At the beginning of the event, all new students watched the university’s international promotional video. The film showcased the university’s educational heritage, campus environment, and excellent academic atmosphere, further inspiring the international students’ aspirations for their studies and life in China.

During the safety education session, Officer Ji from the the Fengxian Subbureau of Exit-Entry Administration of Shanghai Public Security Bureau gave a special safety lecture focusing on key areas including document safety, residence regulations, legal red lines, and consultation channels. He also conducted an on-site Q&A session, helping to build a strong awareness of legal and safety regulations for the new international students. Officer Zhang from the same office explained visa-related precautions in detail and systematically introduced the application procedures and requirements for study-type residence permits. Officer Qin from Zhuanghang Police Station focused on key areas of campus safety, systematically covering campus violence prevention, telecom fraud prevention, fire safety knowledge, and traffic safety regulations, guiding new international students to strengthen their self-protection awareness and enhance overall campus safety capabilities.
This safety orientation for international students was practical, targeted, and effectively enhanced international students’ legal and safety awareness as well as their self-protection abilities, helping them become familiar with entry regulations and campus safety essentials. Moving forward, the university will continue to work closely with local public security authorities to strengthen regular safety management and warm support services for international students, fully ensuring that all international students begin their new academic journey at Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College safely and orderly.
