"The east wind returns with the spring and sends flowers to my branches". On the occasion of the 65th founding anniversary and the 5th anniversary of the newly formed Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC), a forum under the theme of "The 14th Five-Year Plan and High-Quality Development of Vocational Education" took place on March 20 at Fengxian Campus. More than 150 guests from the Ministry of Education, the Municipal Party Committee of Education and Health, the Municipal Education Commission, relevant committee offices, districts and counties, sister institutions, school-enterprise cooperation units, the School Council, the Alumni Association, the SUCC Education Development Foundation, and the Shanghai Construction Vocational Education Group members, as well as faculty members, students and media outlets attended the forum. The opening ceremony was hosted by CHU Min, Secretary of the School Party Committee.

Congratulatory letters from sister institutions and videos of congratulations from overseas partners, international students, faculty members and students were shown at the opening of the forum.

President YE Yinzhong delivered an opening speech. He reviewed the history of the school and the development of SUCC in the past 5 years since its establishment. He pointed out that in the past five years, SUCC has taken on the important task of integration and consolidation, and has once again set sail in the new era, traveling down the path of integration, upgrading and leapfrogging development.

President Ye stressed that the 14th Five-Year Plan of Shanghai education has started and that a new round of comprehensive education reform has begun. SUCC will firmly adhere to the fundamental task of talent cultivation and laying a solid foundation for a better life of young students. The focus will be on vocational education, exploring the path of quality vocational education in the new era, and contributing to adaptability of vocational education. Efforts will be made to continue deepening school-enterprise cooperation for industrial transformation, upgrading and digital development, and to adapt education programs to industrial development. SUCC will also enhance win-win cooperation with government, industry, enterprises, schools and partners at home and abroad to develop a high-quality vocational education system.

At the opening ceremony, President Ye signed a strategic cooperation agreement with China Construction Eighth Engineering Division. Corp. Ltd, a Fortune 500 company, Seentao Technology Co., Ltd., a leading provider of digital intelligence talent services in China, and SuperGen Edu, a subsidiary of SuperGen Group, a leader in China's e-Sports industry.

LI Jin, Vice President and Chairman of the Foundation, and WANG Bei, Vice President of Shanghai Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China, jointly unveiled the plaque for the SUCC Education Development Foundation.

Vice President GAN Aipin, QU Xinping, Deputy Director of the Municipal Veterans Affairs Bureau and SHAO Shizhi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinchang Town, Pudong New Area unveiled the plaque for the Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College Entrepreneurship Park.

The keynote presentation session of the forum was moderated by YE Yinzhong. Experts and scholars discussed the high-quality development of vocational education in the light of the new situation of the 14th Five-Year Plan.

The informative and forward-looking forum came to a successful conclusion with the song of "Building Dreams of SUCC" by students. The students presented the SUCC mascot to the guests and wished SUCC a better future.
