The domestic finals of the Belt & Road cum BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition 2020 were held successfully in Wuchang Polytechnic College from October 30 to November 1. The competition consists of 7 items in total: electronic technology, website design and development, network security, artificial intelligence computer vision application skills, development of Android-and applet-based mobile applications, anti-counterfeiting application of storage and certificate based on block chain, and IoT technology and its application in smart city. Competitors, leaders, coaches and referees participating in this competition numbering 1,100 come from 144 institutes in 23 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government across China.

Representatives of SUCC, majoring in the computer application technology and the big data technology and application participated in the competition item of artificial intelligence computer vision application skills. As a result of hard training, three SUCC students, namely Tu Li (from Big Data Class 2 of the 2019 session), Yuan Ye (from Big Data Class 1 of the 2019 session) and Gao Xin (from Big Data Class 1 of the 2019 session) of Big Data Team 2 (instructors: Xu Gaofeng, Zhu Feng), won the second award, ranked among the top ten of the national competition, and qualified for “the International Challenge for Future Technology and Skills 2020” under the competition item of artificial intelligence computer vision application skills; Another three SUCC students, namely Luo Xinwei (from Computer Class 2 of the 2019 session), Wan Hanfei (from Computer Class 1 of the 2019 session) and Zhang Xuxiao (from Computer Class 1 of the 2019 session) of Computer Team 1 (instructor: Cao Yu), won the third award. And SUCC won the “Award for Outstanding Organizations”. 

BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Competition is an international skills event held against the background of “deepening partnerships among BRICS and building a more brilliant future” with the theme to set up a talent selection channel for BRICS, to foster the talent training capacity, and to serve the leading fields.
