
On the afternoon of October 20, a delegation from Kyungnam University (KU) of South Korea, led by Vice President for External Affairs Koh Ho-seok, visited our Fengxian Campus. They were warmly received by Vice President Guo Hongtao of our university. The meeting was attended by heads of the International Cooperation Division (ICD), the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE), and the School of Architecture & Environment Art (SAEA), and was chaired by ICD Director Yu Limin.
During the meeting, Guo Hongtao provided an overview of our university's development, educational achievements, and progress in China-Korea vocational education cooperation. She expressed hope that the visit would deepen cultural exchanges between the two institutions, facilitate the sharing of practical experience and outcomes in talent development, jointly chart future directions for collaboration, and further enhance student exchange and educational cooperation.
Koh Ho-seok expressed gratitude for the warm reception and detailed KU's history, scale, and academic programs. Established in 1946, KU is a prestigious institution in Gyeongsangnam-do with a long history and strong educational tradition. It has been recognized by the Korean Ministry of Education as a leading university for cultivating innovative talents in the new era and has been repeatedly certified for its global competence. He expressed hope that the exchange would strengthen mutual trust and explore further collaborative opportunities.
During the exchange session, Song Baihong, Dean of SIE, introduced the school's profile, project incubation mechanisms, and achievements. Fan Pingping, an official from SAEA, elaborated on programs such as Restoration and Protection of Cultural Relics and Ancient Architecture Restoration, highlighting potential collaboration areas with KU. Lee Sojin, Dean of International Services at KU, noted the strong alignment between the two universities' academic programs and suggested advancing cooperation in student exchange, credit transfer, and faculty development.
The delegation also toured the School of Architecture & Environment Art and praised our university's advanced facilities and practice-oriented teaching philosophy.
The visit has laid a solid foundation for further collaboration. Both sides agreed to continue deepening cooperation in international education and student exchanges, jointly promote the internationalization of vocational education, and foster the development of technical talents with global competitiveness.
