SUCC Held the Meeting on Curriculum Diagnosis and Improvement

On the morning of October 24th, SUCC held the 3rd round of Expert Report Meeting on Professional Curriculum Diagnosis and Improvement in Room 401 of the Information Center. Dong Dakui (an expert of Shanghai Education Evaluation Association and the dean of Shanghai Vocational College of Science & Technology) and Chen Xibao (an expert of Shanghai Education Evaluation Association and a deputy director of Shanghai Commission of Teaching Diagnosis and Improvement for Higher Vocational Colleges) were invited to attend the meeting and to provide instructions on professional diagnosis and improvement of SUCC majors. The head of the Office of Academic Affairs, the deputy deans of the secondary colleges and the director for the 3rd round of the professional curriculum diagnosis and reform attended the report meeting. The meeting was chaired by Liu Ying (the head of the Office of Academic Affairs).


At the report meeting, Dong Dakui put forward the significance and objectives of professional diagnosis and treatment, defined the six steps of the current round of professional diagnosis and reform--establishing goals, setting standards, clarifying contents, implementing the specific contents concretely, self-diagnosis, and improving results, and set forth the path of professional diagnosis and improvement and the specific interpretation and requirements of the content of the submitted materials. Chen Xibao pointed out that the curriculum diagnosis and improvement should clarify the status of the course in the professional curriculum system, the curriculum construction objectives, the content of the curriculum and key difficulties, the implementation of the curriculum, the issues that should be noted, and other key points of the course diagnosis and improvement. Finally, Liu Ying emphasized the important role of professional leaders and curriculum leaders in the current round of teaching diagnosis and improment, and required the professional leaders to well plan their professional constructions and curriculum teams and to pay attention to teacher development.

The meeting allowed the participants to further clarify the ideas concerning the professional diagnosis and improvement, unified the thoughts, improved the understanding, and had important significance for promoting the diagnosis and reform of SUCC’s internal quality assurance system.
