On September 22, the opening day of the 48th WorldSkills Competition, also served as the “One School, One Team” exchange day. More than 60 competing teams from around the world visited over 60 schools across Shanghai, making the day brim with skill, technology and culture.
At the Yangpu Campus of Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC), the Luxembourg delegation visited the landscape gardening training base and the digitalized training and teaching base for urban infrastructure operation and maintenance. From the national sub-training base for the WorldSkills Bricklaying skill to the Shanghai municipal main training base for the WorldSkills Concrete Construction skill, they paused to admire the bricklaying training works and learned about the competition rules and the training system.
At the intelligent construction training base for prefabricated buildings, they observed hands-on prefabricated component hoisting operations, took a close look at intelligent construction training equipment such as bricklaying robots, intelligent inspection robots and concrete mortar 3D printing robots, and gained an in-depth understanding of the college’s practice of cultivating on-site engineers for intelligent construction through school–enterprise collaboration. Competitors trained at SUCC’s WorldSkills base for the bricklaying project won a Medallion for Excellence in their first participation at the 43rd WorldSkills Competition, and helped China achieve four consecutive championship titles in this event from the 44th to the 47th editions.
