The Delegation of Party Secretary Chu Min Visited Thailand

In order to further deepen the cooperation between Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC) and Thailand, on invitation, the delegation of Party Secretary Chu Min (a total of five people) made fruitful visits the Bangkok Vocational Education Center, Saowapha Vocational College, the Thailand Belt and Road Foundation, and Thailand Institute of Vocational Education (Central Region 3), Nakhon Nayok Institute of Technology, and Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand from December 23rd to 27th, 2019.

On the 24th, the delegation held talks with the principals of the Bangkok Vocational Education Center, the president of Saowapha Vocational College, the principal of Chetupon Commercial College, and the heads of the Food and the Hotel Management programs of Saowapha Vocational College. The Thailand institutions have highly recognized SUCC in its curriculum standards for the Food program in the overseas branch and the standards for talent training, and officially certified the program. In the future, the program and curriculum standards will be implemented in 13 schools under the Bangkok Vocational Education Center. The talks also confirmed the time, content, and form of the classes in China for the student majored in the Hotel Management. After the meeting, the SUCC delegation visited the Saowapha Vocational College and took a group photo in front of the plaque of the SUCC Bangkok branch.

On the 25th, the delegation visited the Thailand Belt and Road Foundation and conduct field investigation on the subordinate Confucius Classroom At Traimit Witthayalai School. This school was the world’s first Confucius Institute under the cooperation of Traimit Wittayalai High School, which was created by Master Phraprommangkalachan, and Tianjin Experimental Middle School. Mr. Chu Min had a detailed understanding of the operation mode, management structure, staff composition, student source and other conditions of the Confucius Institute. After the talks, Secretary Chu Min left a message on the comments book, hoping to learn from the experience and well operate the China-Thailand Luban School.

On the 26th, in Nakhon Nayok Province, the delegation met with the principals of Thailand Institute of Vocational Education (Central Region 3) and the president of the Nakhon Nayok Institute of Technology to discuss the current cooperation between the two institutions and Chinese higher vocational colleges, modes of international talents training, teacher exchanges, etc., introduced SUCC’s professional expertise and international exchanges to the Thai parties, reached an primary intent on the form of cooperation and exchanges for the Construction Engineering Management program and specific colleges and universities, and agreed to sign a formal cooperation agreement in the first half of next year. After the meeting, Mr. Chu Min left a message on the message board of Nakhon Nayok Institute of Technology, hoping that vocational education would become an important bridge for cultural exchanges between China and Thailand, and that SUCC would strengthen cooperation with Thailand Institute of Vocational Education (Central Region 3) and its affiliated institutions to cultivate talents for the economic prosperity of the Belt and Road!


During this visit, the SUCC delegation also got to know the needs of the Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand, and would seek industry-education-research cooperation in the future to jointly serve the Belt and Road construction, and develop in-depth cooperation with the Thai parties in the construction of SUCC’s overseas branches and the promotion/implementation of the program standards. The delegation has reached agreements with the Thai parties on future in-depth cooperation and exchanges, and gained significant results.


In the next stage, the relevant departments of SUCC will implement the results of the visit one by one, and do a good job of all the follow-up work in a timely manner.
