In the afternoon of March 8, Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC), together with CCCC Road & Bridge Construction Eastern China Engineering Company Limited, Shandong High Speed Road & Bridge International Engineering Company Limited, Shanghai Landscape Industry Association, and Shanghai Municipal Highway Industry Association, held the inauguration ceremony of the "Belt and Road" Municipal Engineering International Industrial College at the Yangpu Campus. This Industrial College is the first international platform in Shanghai to serve countries along the "Belt and Road", integrating "production, learning, research, training and innovation". At the meeting, representatives of the participating enterprises and industry associations agreed that the "Belt and Road" Municipal Engineering International Industrial College is a new carrier of industry-education integration, a new overseas platform to serve Chinese enterprises going abroad, and a new initiative to realize the transformation of education to industry-education and regional to global transformation through deep school-enterprise integration, playing to the advantages of their respective technical resources.

During the ceremony, the Technology Innovation Center of Municipal Engineering Wisdom Diagnosis was inaugurated.

President Ye Yinzhong expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the participating units at the inauguration ceremony and pointed out that the close cooperation among government, industry, enterprises and schools is an essential guarantee for running a good vocational education. The "Belt and Road" Municipal Engineering International Industrial College should further strengthen the school's service-oriented characteristics, closely dovetail with the development needs of industry enterprises, make comprehensive efforts in talent training, science and technology services, and international exchange, support the high-quality development of the industry with talents and technology, take team building as a focus, seize the key points of technology, talent, information and resource sharing, innovate the operation mechanism, highlight the international vision, and build the Industrial College into a new platform for deepening the integration of industry and education. Hecombining his own nearly forty years’ research experience in the field of technical process fault diagnosis and safety, he put forward the work requirements for the Technical Innovation Center of Municipal Engineering Wisdom Diagnosis to face industrial needs, highlight theoretical, technical and application innovations, undertake high-level scientific and technological projects, and produce results with significant economic and social benefits. He hoped that the College of Municipal and Ecological Engineering should take one center, one industrial college and many faculty teams as carriers to drive the whole college out of a new development path and up to a new level, thus making greater contributions to SUCC’s goal and task of building a strong vocational education school and an undergraduate vocational university.

According to the plan, the "Belt and Road" International Industrial College aimsto leverage the power of industry, share resource platform, promote diversified cooperation, and establish overseas teaching bases in the field of municipal engineering, establish practice bases for students in overseas, train overseas industrial technical workers, provide academic education for foreign students, develop engineering technology standards, build overseas courses, apply for patents, improve the  overseas teaching abilities of teachers, offer short-term professional study tour program for students, and organize high-level academic conferences on municipal engineering technology in "One Belt, One Road" countries.
