On May 18, Mr. Aigazy Kussainov, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of International Educational Corporation (IEC), and his delegation visited the Yangpu Campus of Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College (SUCC). Guo Hongtao, Vice President of the SUCC, warmly received the guests. Key figures and program leaders from the International Cooperation Division, the School of Architecture & Environment Art, the School of City Operation & Management, the School of Application of Artificial Intelligence, and the School of Digital Construction attended the meeting, which was chaired by Yu Limin, Director of the International Cooperation Division.

At the meeting, Vice President Guo Hongtao warmly welcomed the IEC delegation and provided an overview of the SUCC, including its educational achievements and progress in China-Kazakhstan vocational education cooperation. She highlighted that at the end of February this year, the SUCC signed cooperation agreements with several vocational colleges in Karaganda Oblast, Kazakhstan. She emphasized the significant strategic position of Kazakhstan, as the place where the initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt was raised, in regional economic and educational cooperation. She also acknowledged the close alignment of the expertise of IEC, one of the largest private educational institutions in Kazakhstan, in architecture, engineering, and environmental design, with the educational focus of the SUCC. Against this backdrop, she expressed her hope that both sides would further explore cooperation paths, jointly build an international platform, and deepen teacher and student exchanges and educational cooperation.

Chairman Aigazy Kussainov expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and then provided a detailed introduction of IEC. IEC has developed an education ecosystem with multiple levels ranging from secondary school education to higher education. Notably, the Kazakh Leading Academy of Architecture and Civil Engineering (KazGASA), a key component of IEC, is widely recognized as a premier science and education center in Central Asia. IEC is also a member of the Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC), and has broad potential for cooperation with SUCC in areas such as urban construction and urban services. Chairman Aigazy Kussainov pointed out that China's development achievements in the field of construction have attracted worldwide attention and are examples for Kazakhstan to study and learn from.

During the exchange session of the meeting, Yu Limin, Director of the International Cooperation Division, introduced SUCC's general situation and international exchange activities. Chairman Aigazy Kussainov then proposed that the two sides should focus on establishing cooperation mechanisms in areas such as teacher and student exchanges, joint construction of training centers, and mutual credit recognition to promote complementary advantages and resource sharing. Vice President Guo Hongtao expressed strong support for this collaborative vision and suggested that both parties expedite the drafting and signing of a cooperation agreement.
