Recently, SUCC’s Food Quality & Safety Program, in collaboration with Beijing Purkinje General Instrument Co., Ltd., successfully led the development of the practical training conditions and equipment standards for the “Food Inspection & Test Engineer (NTA Levels 7-8)” under the Tanzanian National Vocational Education Council. The standards have been officially certified by the Tanzanian authorities. This achievement marks another significant milestone for SUCC in areas such as exporting international vocational education standards, promoting university-enterprise collaboration going global, and cultivating internationally skilled technical talent.

With its solid professional foundation, distinctive industry characteristics, and clear collaboration plan, the Food Quality & Safety Program stood out among numerous applicants and was successfully selected for the “Tanzania National Vocational Education Equipment Standards Development Project” as well as the “Overseas Practical Training Base Construction Project”. Subsequently, the Program, in partnership with Beijing Purkinje General Instrument Co., Ltd., a leading domestic company in the field of analytical instruments, jointly established an eight-member standards development team composed of faculty and corporate engineers. The team systematically analyzed the technical requirements of Tanzania’s food industry and the training specifications for NTA Levels 7-8, benchmarked against both international and Chinese industry standards, and meticulously drafted the Standards for the Construction of Practical Training Conditions for Food Inspection & Test Technicians, covering 11 training laboratories, nearly 100 types of equipment, and more than 70 domestic and international technical standards. After multiple rounds of rigorous review by Chinese experts, professional translation, and final approval by the Tanzanian committee, the standard was successfully registered in November 2025 and incorporated into Tanzania’s national vocational education system, becoming the official guiding document for the construction of practical training bases in the country’s relevant programs.

The project outcomes will be directly applied to the laboratory construction and teaching practices of Tanzanian vocational colleges, helping to cultivate food quality control professionals who meet international standards and industry needs. At the same time, the project has established a bridge for China-Tanzania vocational education exchanges in the food sector, paving the way for deeper cooperation such as faculty and student exchanges, joint research, and skills training, and effectively enhancing SUCC’s influence in the field of international vocational education.
